Catherine Claire Brandewie, 98, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. Catherine was born in Bridgeport Connecticut to John and Catherine Wallace and lived in New York City and Worcester Massachusetts before moving to Newington Connecticut. She graduated from Julia Richmond High School in New York and worked as a bookkeeper for Best and Company, First National Stores, finally retiring from Continental Baking Company. She was married to Harry Brandewie until his death in 1987. At the time of her death, she resided in Salinas California, where she attended San Carlos Cathedral. Catherine is survived by her two sons and their families; Robert (Donna) of Salinas California and John (Karin) of The Woodlands, Texas. She leaves three grandchildren, Erin Brandewie of Austin, Texas, Drew (Claire) Washington, D.C. and Sean Brandewie of Odessa,Texas.
