Winsted: Catherine “Cathy” Ann Mangle, 68, of 7 Greenwoods Gardens, died Sunday, January 25, 2009, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington following a short illness. She was the wife of William Mangle. Born in Bristol, June 1, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Dennis and Jennie (Sarojac) Shopey and had lived in Winsted most of her life. Prior to her retirement, she had worked in the records department at the Winsted Police Department. She was a graduate of the Gilbert School. In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her brother, Robert Shopey of FL; a sisters, Denise Hazzard of NC; and nieces and nephews, Susan and Phillip Stevens, Bob Shopey, Jr and Becky, Linda and Kent Russel, Amy Shopey, Erin and Todd Barnes, Daniel Shopey and Nichole Shopey. She was predeceased by a son, Steven Mangle and a brother Daniel Shopey.
