Preceded in death by her father, John P. Murphy, and her husband, John Knutson. Surviving Cate is her mother, Sandra Murphy, sister Nora Murphy, brother William P. Murphy (Luisa Garmers), nephews Andrew and Evan Hall, and niece Lillian Murphy. She is a graduate of Marshall University High School and the University of Minnesota School of Journalism. Cate found success and delight in her communications and business career. She was a strong woman who loved, and was loved, by many. Her generous nature and open heart will always be remembered. Cate’s gorgeous smile made us happy.
