Carroll H. Guard, 98, of Pendleton, passed away on January 9, 2015, at the Community North Hospital. He was born on April 29, 1916, and resided most of his life in Pendleton.

Carroll graduated from Pendleton High School, and then he served his country in the Army during WWII. After returning from the war, he worked for Guide Lamp and retired after 41 years of service. He was a Mason with the Pendleton Masonic Lodge #44 F & A.M., UAW Local #663, a member of Pendleton Christian Church, and enjoyed golfing and fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Carroll is survived by his loving grandson, Michael (Teresa Watson) Guard of Pendleton, and granddaughter, Susan (Mark) Siner of Indianapolis; great-grandchildren, Nathan (Ashley) Siner, Brittany (Jeremy Cummings) Siner, and Andrew Siner; great-great-grandchildren, Ezekiel (Zeke) and Ella.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Belle (Levi) Guard; son, Jack E. Guard; and daughter-in-law, Diane (Thomas) Guard.
