Keith Warden. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Picayune. In her earlier years, she led and taught Children’s Sunday School. Lee was an excellent Bible teacher by example. She was a member of the Challengers Sunday School Class for the past 20 years. Lee’s first loves were being an excellent wife and mother. She promised to love and support her husband, Leroy, which she did faithfully for 65 years, accompanying her husband during his working career across country several times well into her 70s. She consistently expressed a loving attitude toward everyone. She knew the value of a second chance, which she was always willing to give. When her youngest daughter entered Ms. Jackie’s preschool, she fulfilled a life-long ambition by completing her training to be a Licensed Practical Nurse, a career she pursued for 20 years. Her advice was always sound and wisely given when requested. Lee enjoyed sewing, cooking, and being with her family. She really loved babies, especially her babies. Lee was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend who will be truly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob Murph Rhoades and Ora Lee Coe Rhoades; her infant daughter, Connie Lynn Gilbert; her sister, Ivey Elledge; and her brothers, Earl Rhoades, Arnold Rhoades, Troy Rhoades, and Clyde Rhoades. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Leroy Gilbert; her children, Danny Gilbert, Leslie “Les” Gilbert and wife Eleanor, Larry Gilbert and wife Trina, Karen Hennes and husband Mark, and Sharon Gilbert; 6 grandchildren, Kristen, Michael, Joshua, Jessica, Patricia, and Jacob; 8 great grandchildren, Kallista, Kade, Karlee, Ryder, Ransom, Kinzlee, Jaren, and Brittaney; and her sister, Ila Faye Patrick.
