Carolyn J. Stocking, 74, of Storrs, widow of Clarence Stocking, died Friday January 4, 2002 in Stafford Springs at the home of her daughter. She was born February 8, 1927 in Willimantic, the daughter of Roy and Corinne (Tapley) Jones. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Simmons College in 1949 and her Masters degree in Library Science from Western Reserve University in 1952. For many years Mrs. Stocking was employed as head of the Government Publications Department of the Homer Babbidge Library at the University of Connecticut. After retirement she volunteered as an assistant librarian at the Windham Textile and History Museum and was a member of the Mansfield Committee on Persons with Disabilities. She also volunteered at the Windham Area Interfaith Ministries (W.A.I.M.) and the Children?s Law Center in Willimantic. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and Charles Kraussmann of Stafford Springs, a granddaughter Katherine Kraussmann of Stafford Springs, a brother, Lawrence Jones and his wife Gloria of Woodstock and a sister, Ruth Jones of Storrs.
