Ms. Carolyn Diane Witt, age 78 of Newnan, went on to the more abundant life that awaits us all on Easter Sunday April 12, 2020. Ms. Witt was born on November 15, 1941 in Washington, D.C. to Roy Bruce Witt and Dorothy Purvis Witt both of whom pre-deceased her. Carolyn retired from the Federal Civil Aeronautics Board and the National Institutes of Health before starting a pet sitting business in Washington D.C. She moved to Newnan 10 years ago to be close to family, and was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Atlanta. She was a gem of a soul, rich in character, generous in compassion, refreshingly frank and direct, and always up for adventure. Her volunteer efforts spanned across her love of animals and several dimensions of relieving human suffering. She is survived by her sister Jean (Harlan) Davis, her nephew Dan (Monique) Davis, her niece Cristina (George) Hamman, her niece Leigh (Jim) Purcell, grandnephews Bo (Leslie) Davis, Chris (Lindsey) Davis, Palmer Purcell, grandnieces Ana (Daniel) Swann, Emma Purcell, Mia Purcell, Elizabeth Davis, Elise Davis, great grandnieces Charlotte Davis and Ava Swann, and great grandnephew Harlan Davis.
