Carole Miller died early afternoon Tuesday May 27th at Hospice House in South Bend, IN. She began life as Carole Sue Gyorgyi, daughter of Alexander and Lucille Gyorgyi of New Carlisle, IN. Carole grew in her mother’s beautifully created home and her father Al’s grocery. She thrived, becoming Valedictorian of New Carlisle High School class of 1953. She played clarinet and enjoyed writing. She attended Purdue University for Freshman year to study journalism where she attained skills used later in her work as medical transcriptionist.
Carole partnered in marriage three times- Q. Brant Pfeiffer, Jim Mercier, and Jim Miller. Children Michele, Shane, Heidi are from her first marriage to Brant. Family grieving her passing include: children, grandchildren, great grandchildren – Michele Sheehan (Michael) with Daniel and Monica [Jonas & Ronan]; Shane Pfeiffer (Sophie) with Heather, Hillary, and Adam; Heidi Moritz (Rod) with Kara Skye; sister- Debra Stevanson; Gyorgyi cousins – Suzanne Pedler, Maxine Fredricks, David Williams, Sharon Hendrickson, and John Gyorgyi.
Carole enjoyed playing with her cat Joey, gardening, singing, reading, visiting with friends and family, creating a cozy home, making a good meal, having fun. She also had a real love of beautiful natural things. She lived in numerous places over her long life including Indiana, Arizona, and Texas. At each place she went out of her way to make beautiful friendships.
