Carole “Jean” Todd Elmore, 76, Anderson, passed away peacefully at her home August 4, 2009 surrounded by her loving family at her side following an extended illness. She was born January 5, 1933 in Anderson, the youngest daughter of Forrest & Alverta Briscoe Todd and remained a lifelong resident. In 1998, Jean retired from Delco Remy after 43.5 years of employment where she was affectionately known as “Mom”.

She was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #174 Ladies Auxilary, Order of Eastern Star #591 and UAW Local #662. Jean enjoyed camping, traveling, shopping, and getting a bite to eat with her family. She also enjoyed swinging on her front porch and being a night owl. Most recently, she enjoyed taking a buggy ride with William at dusk to enjoy the deer at Mounds State Park She will be sadly missed and our family gatherings will never be the same.

She leaves her devoted children to cherish her memories, Connie Elmore Neal and companion, Darcey & wife Anne Elmore, Joni & husband Dennis Scott, William Janes and Tony Elmore and companion; brother, Billy Todd; sister, Joann DeVore; grandchildren, Justin Neal, Jesse Neal, Ryan & wife Chrissy Elmore, Laurie Elmore, Bryce Elmore, Amanda Scott, Lynn Scott and Shawnna Elmore and great grandson, Sebastien Scott.

She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Tina Elmore in 1997. A special thank you to our brother, William for lovingly and tenderly caring for Mom so she was able to enjoy life more. You are truly a son most Moms everywhere could only wish for.
