Carol was born August 31, 1955 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Howard Roberts and Shirley Pickett Payne. She came to Deming with her family at a young age and after graduating from Deming High School she went to work for Mountain Bell Telephone Company for 5 years. She married Raymond Viramontes and over the years she worked alongside her husband on the farm and was very devoted to it’s success and the well being of her family. She was an active member of CitiLife Church and also enjoyed art, cooking, 4H, animals, and always cherished her blessings in life as the gift of giving was important to her. Most recently Carol experienced one of her greatest joys in life as she welcomed the birth of her grandson with open arms and a loving heart.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Viramontes of Deming; her son, Cole Viramontes and wife Jamie of Deming; her mom, Shirley Payne of Deming; brother, Doug Roberts and wife Deborah of Deming; sisters, Sandy Shiflett and husband Gary of Deming, Joy Batts and husband Larry of Hobbs, NM; and her grandson, Cayden Wyatt Viramontes. She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Roberts and by her niece, Cassie Shiflett.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Diaz, Allen Batts, Henry Madrid, Gary Shiflett, Deret Roberts, and Jacob Livingston. In lieu of flowers she requested that memorial contributions be made to the CitiLife Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1196, Deming, NM 88031.
