Carol Smith, 99, of McComb passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023.
Carol was born on September 29, 1923 in McComb, Ohio to the late Solomon Arthur (Min) and Mary Esther (Insley) Rader. She married John M. Smith on October 23, 1942 and he preceded her in death on January 4, 2005. Carol is survived by her son James Kent (Donna) Smith of Carey; grandchildren: Jennifer (Robb) Leonhardt, Ryan (Erin) Smith, Jessica (Patrick) Burkin, Alexandria (Brandon) Kendrick; great-grandchildren: Ava Leonhardt, Alyssa Smith, Riley Burkin, Leo Burkin, Brantley Kendrick, Maddox Kendrick, Jenna Kendrick. brothers-and-sisters in law: Loretta Smith, Bob and Rosemary Smith, Wayne and Juanita Smith. She was preceded in death by her son John Bradley Smith and his wife Brenda; siblings: R. Ned and Edna Rader, Charles and Miriam Rader, Jane and Bernie Parker; brothers and sisters in law: Irvin and Irene Moyer, Delbert Smith, Franklin and Virginia Sterling.
Carol was a 1942 graduate of McComb High School. She worked at the former Bennett’s Furniture in McComb. Carol enjoyed crocheting, making sure everyone in the family had one of her afghan blankets.
