Carol F. Heerwagen, 71, formerly of Maplewood, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2014 in Nazareth, PA. Born in Newark, NJ, Carol was the daughter of the late Eugene and Violet (Prentiss) Delamater. She worked for NJ Transit for over 25 years in the Cash Management and Payroll departments, retiring in 2007. Carol was a member of Advent Lutheran Church in Warren, as well as the Neighbors and Newcomers Club of Watchung Hills, and the Maplewood Womens Club. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and greatly enjoyed being with her family, as well as cooking and working in her garden. Survivors: son William Heerwagen, Jr and his wife Suzanne; daughters Susan Wagener, Jennifer Nugent and her husband James; sisters Joan Woody, Linda Weiss and her husband Tim; grandchildren Brittany, William III, and Benjamin Heerwagen, Emily, Owen, Brady, Bridget and Tess Nugent; and many loving nieces and nephews. Carol was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Zappulla.
