Carol H. Grotz, 81, of Indianapolis, formerly of Syracuse, IN, passed away August 14, 2012. She was born October 14, 1930 in Chicago to the late Lillian Harris and Roy. Carol earned her nursing degree at Mercy Hospital in Chicago and then worked for the Santa Fe Railroad, traveling within the western U.S.
She later retired from her position as an RN from Goshen General Hospital. She was a former member of St. Martin De Porres Parish, and a member of Holy Spirit Parish at Geist. She was a Stephen Minister, a Lector, a Eucharistic Minister, and an active member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry at Holy Spirit.
Carol is survived by her children: Michael K. of Indianapolis; Robert M. of Syracuse; John P. of Fairfield, OH; and Linda M. Grotz-Butler of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert M. Grotz who died November 4, 2002.
