Carol Staggs, age 78, passed away in the early hours on the 28th day of February, ending her aggressive battle with lung cancer. She was a caring mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister.
Carol was the first born to David and Doris Crutcher in 1943. Having been the oldest and the only girl, she embraced her role as protector and caretaker of her three little brothers, and this role no doubt molded her into the take charge, strong willed, firecracker of a woman her family and friends knew and loved. She proved to be stubborn yet independent at the age of 15 when she got married and started her own family with the love of her life, Billy Staggs. They went on to have four children. Carol was so proud of her large family and loved to see her grandchildren and great grandchildren gathered together. She could often be heard saying, “look at all of these people, I did that.” Carol touched the lives of so many through her amazing artwork. Countless paintings and sculptures she has done have been sold around the world and she was so proud of her many achievements, awards, and titles gained throughout her life. Her followers described her as passionate, brilliant, and personable. Carol was a devout christian who shared her love for our Lord and Savior with all who listened. She will be remembered and greatly missed by many. Carol is preceded in death by her mother and father, Doris and David Crutcher, her husband  Billy Staggs, her daughters Cindy Moore and Deanna Staggs, her brothers Larry Crutcher and Chris Crutcher and her granddaughter  Christina O’Keefe.  She is survived by her brother Kenny Wayne Crutcher; her son Jr. Staggs (Penny) and her daughter Tracy Staggs; her grandchildren Mark Bustamante (Angel), Chris O’Keefe, Billy Staggs (Danielle), Jessica Pelton (Casey), David Isbell (Sondra), Ashley Patterson (Lance), Jenna Miller (Chad), Adam Miller (Morgan); Along with 25 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; Carol is also survived by her beloved niece Christy Stults and family.
