Carol Cheney McKinley passed away February 3, 2022. Carol was born June 13, 1931 in Shelley, Idaho the daughter of Austin John Cheney and Carrie Alene Pincock Cheney. She graduated from Mackay High School and received her Bachelor’s degree from Idaho State. She married Avon Walter McKinley on November 9, 1950 in Idaho Falls. They raised their family in Idaho, Montana, and Utah.

Carol retired from the State of Utah after 30 years of social work with Foster Care.

She was a proud member of D.U.P. and was a volunteer at Union Station. She was a temple worker at the Ogden Temple and gave tours at the Joseph Smith Memorial Bldg. in Salt Lake City and worked in the Genealogy Library in Ogden. She was an avid reader (church history and mystery novels) and loved word searches.

Carol is survived by her children, Brett McKinley, Bart W. (Cyndi) McKinley, Ronda (Mike) Sanders, Deedee (Sterling) Castle, Sandi (Jack) Nelson and Linda (Russell) Wilson; two brothers Larry Cheney and Wayne Cheney24 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Avon; infant son Michael; daughters Debbie and Barbara; two brothers Bryce Cheney and Don Cheney; two sisters Gwen Grover and Alice Saunders and her parents.
