Carol Ann Major, 69, of Anderson, passed away on June 7, 2013, at St. Vincent’s Hospital Indianapolis. She was born on June 6, 1944, in Anderson, Indiana and resided most of her life in Anderson, and spent part of her retirement at Westminster Golf Club Community in Lehigh Acres, FL.
Carol attended Purdue University and graduated from Ball State University with a Master’s Degree in Education. She retired from Anderson Community Schools after 30 years of teaching. She was a member of Central Christian Church, First Christian Church of Lehigh Acres, FL; Red Bud Quilting Guild, Psi Iota Xi, Alpha Omega Pi, Marjhong Club of Ft. Myers, FL, and The Madison Co. Retired Teachers Association.
Carol is survived by her loving husband, Richard “Pete” Major, whom she married on June 19, 1965, daughter, Michelle Lon Salomon of Valparaiso, IN, son, Rick Major of Hudson, WI, daughter, Natalie Yun of Shakopee, MN; Sister, Gladys Rosa of Redlands, CA. Seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Rhynearson, mother, Edna Rhynearson; two brothers, Dr. Hal Rhynearson, and Dr. Bill Rhynearson.
