Carol Ann Busen, 64, of Jacksonville, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at Passavant Area Hospital. She was born Dec. 23, 1950, in Roodhouse at her family home, the daughter of Otha and Margaret Louise Hawkins Jeffers. She married Ronald William Busen on June 5, 1971, in Jacksonville and he survives.
She is also survived by her daughter, Rhonda Carol (Tom) McCormick, her son, Ryan William (Cynthia) Busen, and grandchildren, Dylan Michael McCormick and Kayla Ann McCormick, all of Jacksonville; a brother, James Bennett (Della) Jeffers of Roodhouse; two sisters, Mary Louise (Tom) Edwards and Sarah Laverne Jeffers, both of Jacksonville; a step-brother, John (Gloria) Jeffers of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; her mother and step-father, Margaret and Carl Alred; a sister, Linda Irene Hymes; two brothers, David Jeffers (surviving wife Pat of Franklin, KY) and Robert Jeffers; and a step-sister, Esther Myers.
Mrs. Busen was a 1970 graduate of North Greene High School in White Hall. She had worked at Mobil Chemical, then babysat for many years before going to work for Hertzberg New Method. She then worked for Wal-Mart in Jacksonville for 21 years, retiring in 2012. She was a member of Life Church in Jacksonville. Carol loved holidays, especially Christmas, and spent her time praying for people, and inspiring and lifting them up. She also enjoyed collecting angels. She especially loved being with her children and grandchildren.
