Carmen Teodora Rosales passed away on October 6, 2014 after a fierce battle with cancer. She was 57 years old.

Carmen was born in Great Falls on January 17, 1957. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the U of M in Missoula and went on to earn her Master’s in Education from the U of M Western in Dillon.

With her strong work ethics, attention to detail and professionalism, Carmen excelled at the positions she held throughout her working career: Student Affairs Officer at Berkley’s University of California, San Francisco Housing Authority, Executive Assistant at Merrill Lynch, and Executive Assistant to the Global Head at Deutsche Bank.

Carmen was passionate in life and an adventurous lady. She cycled from Montana to San Francisco in the 80’s, ran in marathons, and loved to organize events, including the successful celebration in 2013 of her mother’s 60th anniversary of coming to America. She was an active member of Glide Church in San Francisco, loved good food and good wine, and enjoyed reading, traveling, and time with family.

Carmen was known for her heart of gold, passionate belief in justice and equality, and her unfailing commitment to anyone in need of help. A perfect example of this was when she negotiated and paid for hotel accommodations for a homeless woman who was traveling north from San Francisco with her eight cats.

She will be greatly missed by her beloved mother, Juanita Rosales; her soul mate and partner, Nenita Quijano; brothers, Timothy Rosales, Mark (Lori) Rosales, Modesto (Judy) Rosales Jr.; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; extended family in Canada, United States and the Philippines; Special friends in Montana and California; cats, Nina and Baba; and by all those whose life she impacted and touched.

She is preceded in death by her father, Modesto A. Rosales Sr.; grandparents, Ambrosio & Carmen Lacanilao; grandparents, Maximo & Teodora Rosales.
