Carmelle Julien was a courageous and God-fearing woman who was born on May 9th, 1963, in Latibonite, Haiti. She was the first born of her mother, Philosie Julien. At a young adult age, she left Latibonite, Haiti and went to Port-au-Prince, Haiti in search of a better life. Carmelle was a hard-working woman and never turned down the chance to soar. In 1984, she left Haiti and came to the United States where she gave birth to 3 children David, Rebecca, and Mardochee. In 2010 she became the guardian of her niece, Johanne, who moved to the US and raised her as her own, so in total we can say she had 4 children. Later that year, on December 31, 2010, Carmelle Julien became the wife of Manuel Durate.

Carmelle Julien was kind, caring, loving, and pure hearted, she didn’t need to know you in order to lend a helping hand. This philanthropist refused to let people suffer in her presence. After all, she always tried to see the best in people.

In 2020 she became ill; it took a toll on the entire family. Despite everything that was done her health worsened, she could not walk or talk until God took her home on February 2nd, 2022, at 10:30 PM.

It was difficult for the family to accept the fact that they have lost their strongest, bravest, and courageous woman. In spite of the painful loss, the Lord had greater plans for Carmelle Julien and took her home.
