Carmela (Millie) Colavolpe Landino passed away surrounded by her loving family, on January 1, 2011, in Mystic, Ct. A former resident of Orange, CT, she was the loving wife for 67 years of the late Alphonse Landino and daughter of the late Vincenzo and Lucia (Pepe) Colavolpe. She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Michael (Lucille) Landino of Bonita Springs, FL., Richard (Elizabeth) Landino of Sun Lakes, AZ., Thomas (Florence) Landino of North Haven, CT., Lucille (Michael) Selvidio of Westerly, RI, and Paul Landino of Ft Lauderdale, FL. Born and raised in New Haven, Ct., Millie graduated from Commercial High School trained as a bookkeeper, but found her true vocation as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was deeply devoted to her religion, Italian heritage, and raising her family with the values of love, honesty and peace. She will be remembered for her outgoing personality and her compassion for others. She was an avid UCONN girl’s basketball fan. In addition to her children, Millie is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and twelve great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Philomena (Faye ) Persano and her brothers Ralph Colavolpe and Frank Colavolpe.
