Carlton Kendrick was born June 5, 1954 to Willie Joe and Loddie Bell Kendrich. On May 13, 2015 angels of mercy escorted him into the Lord’s hands. Deacon Carlton Kendrick was a lifelong, active member. He involved himself in many aspects of the Gospel and was widely known for his gift of singing. He his love of singing Gospel music gave him many opportunities to perform as a member of the group the Mighty Clouds of Joy and to sing and share the stage with the famous Patti LaBelle. Carlton an inspirational entrepreneur and musician, started the gospel group CK and the Redeemers.
He wrote songs and produced numerous CDs. Carlton was active in the community as the owner of Encircle Roofing & Home Improvement. He was a member of the Newnan Coweta Chamber of Commerce, the Atlanta Urban League, and the Continental Societies, Inc.
Survivors include wife, Melvinor Kendrick; children, Carla Pine, Susan Kendrick, Nancy Kendrick, Catrina Kendrick, Pamela Sanders, Monroe Williamson, III; a host of adored grandchildren; two beloved great-grandchildren, Kaylani & Khila; godchildren, Michael Towns, Julia Juarez; siblings, William Kendrich, Coaty (Yvonne) Kendrick, Betty Jean Barber, Sanders Kendrick, Patsy (Charles) Atkinson, Connell (Gloria) Kendrick; brother, Bruce Elliott; numerous nieces and nephews.
