Carlos Pereira Jr., lovingly known as “Grandpa Rob” was born on December 23, 1946 on the small island of Trinidad in the West Indies.
Rob held fond memories of his childhood in Trinidad, often singing Calypso songs and reminiscing about his island home and loving grandparents.
He left his beloved Trinidad to enlist in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Upon retirement,  he volunteered his time as the Activities Director at Susanville Nursing Home where he was loved by all.
Rob devoted his life to helping God’s most vulnerable souls and opened his heart and home to many in need over the years.  Rob was an inspiration to many sharing his strength, hope, and wisdom with those still suffering.

He loved Indian food, an occasional cigarette, and listening to music with his family, cracking jokes, pulling out card tricks, and the “rat trap.”  He was known to be a prankster and for his Pereira sense of humor.
More than anything,  he cherished his family.  The apple of his eye, will always be Avary, his great grand daughter, who now teaches others, Grandpa’s “rat trap.”
Rob is survived by his daughter Nicole, grand children Abel Jr. and Sierra Contreras and son-in-law Abel.  He is survived by his loving mother Barbara Teixeira, sisters Cathy Grzeszczak, Elizabeth Carbone, and nieces and nephews.  Rob was preceded in death by his cherished grand parents John and Ivy Searl, his father, Carlos Pereira Sr., and little brother Johnny Pereira.
Carlos Silvino Pereira Jr. was called home to eternal rest in the arms of Jesus on March 27, 2021.  He will be greatly missed and will not be forgotten.
