Carlos R. Corky Schetzsle, 80, died Friday, October 14, 2016 at Community Hospital in Anderson. Corky was born in Wabash, Indiana in 1935 to the last Ralph and Dorothea (Young)Schetzsle. He attended St. Bernards Grade School for eight years and graduated from Wabash High School in 1953. He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Alexandria.
Corky has resided in Wabash, Indiana, Parkville, Missouri and Crawfordsville, Indiana before moving to Summit ville before retiring in 1996 from Indiana-American Water Company after 39 years of service.
Corky was a past member of the Elks Lodge, Rotary Club and the American Water Works Association. He also had coached Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) basketball and American Legion Baseball. He was a fan of NASCAR racing, Notre Dme football and the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed attending craft and hobby shows with his wife and collecting possible dreams Santa Clauses.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Becky Jane (Dorsey)Schetzsle of Summitville, IN, Daughters; Deborah Kay Debbie Schetzsleof Lafayette, and Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Barton of Crawfordsville, sons, John R. (Carla)Schetzsley of Crawfords ville, and David M.Schetzsleof Toledo, Ohiotwo granddaughters; Kali Elise and Kristi Marie Schetzsleand grandson, Robert Nile Barton all of Crawfordsville, brother John B. (Carol)Schetzsleof Wabash and several nieces and nephews. A brother, James R.Schetzsle, died while serving his country in World War II.
