Carlos Matos, Sr., 83, of Jersey City, NJ has passed into eternal slumber on May 21, 2015. He spent 35 years as machine operator for Republic Container Corrugated Box Co. in Jersey City. A man of strong Christian faith, he spent 20+ years of his life dedicated to attending church. In his spare time, he loved playing Dominos, and became a traveling tournament champion within the 5 boroughs of New York.
He is remembered as a very compassionate man who was always available to help and serve family, friends and strangers. He was known to not speak ill of anyone, always choosing to see the good in people.
He was beloved husband to Margarita; Father to Carlos Jr., Irving, Samuel, William, Elida & Rosa; Brother to Antonio and Ursula; Grandfather to Jessica, Bianca, Nicole, Julian, William, Cristian, Jerry, Antonio, Alexis (his pride & joy); Great-grandfather to Sofia, Ethan, Noah and Gavin; and stepfather to 8 stepchildren.
