Carl Vincent Dzienis, 51, was called to life everlasting on January 25, 2017. Carl was born on August 23, 1965 in Bayonne, New Jersey. He is survived by his parents, Edward and Carol Ann of Albuquerque, NM; his sister, Maria Leigh, of Austin, TX; his brother, Edward, of Albuquerque, NM; his uncle, Father John Vignone, of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; his aunt, Christine Millard, of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; his aunt and godmother, Carolyn Hamolko; his uncle Richard, of West Belmar, NJ, and his cousins, Jason, Justin, and Michael Millard, Jessica Del Prete and Julie-Ann Hamolko.
Carl graduated from Assumption School in Wood-Ridge, NJ, and from Queen of Peace High School in North Arlington, NJ. He earned his associates degree at Bergen Community College in Paramus, NJ. He proudly served in the United States Navy as a submariner during the Gulf War. Carl received the National Defense Service medal and a letter for commendation while assigned to the USS George Washington Carver SSBN 656. He also served in the Washington State National Guard.
As a youth, Carl marched in the Royal Brigade Drum and Bugle Corps in New Jersey. He was an avid reader, and was respected for his strong work ethic, having been employed at various restaurants in Albuquerque and Seattle, Washington. He was recently employed at the Raymond G. Murphy VA hospital here in Albuquerque.
