Carl V. Olson was born on June 10, 1916, in Red Wing, Minnesota, the eldest son of Margret and Oscar Olson. After his high school graduation, Dad worked for Northern States Power Company. He enlisted in the Army in January, 1942, and served until November, 1945, in the U.S. and in Europe.
He is survived by his children, Chris and Mike Etzel, Eric and Connie Olson and Nick’s wife, Kerry Olson. His grandchildren are Gretchen (Etzel) and Dan Hart, Kate (Etzel) and Joe Gruber, Sean and Megan Olson.
Dad was a loyal member of the Elks, the American Legion and the VFW. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Warm Springs Golf Club, the Over the Hill Gang and the Florian Open Group. Throughout his life he delighted in meeting new people, nurturing friendships and telling great stories.
