Carl V. Smith Jr., of Lost Creek, passed peacefully March 27, 2013 at his residence in his 95th year. He was born June 22, 1917 in Lost Creek; son of the late Carl V. Smith and Nora Eva Williams Smith. He is survived by daughter, Mary Lou Smith of Lost Creek; four grandchildren, Martha Straley; Robert Straley; Charles Straley all of Lost Creek; Jean Straley of Lebanon, TN; one great grandson, Phillip Rabanal of Lost Creek; and niece Donna Jean Bradman. In addition to his parents Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie L. Smith; one daughter, Cora Mae Smith; sister, Pauline Boone; and brother Paul Smith. Carl was the owner and operator of a fleet of trucks and was a full time farmer. He enjoyed life on the farm and was a Christian by faith.
