Carl Matthew Lowe, Sr., 60, of Lynchburg Health Rehab Center, died Monday, May 21, 2012 at the center. Born in Marion, VA January 18, 1952, Carl was a son of the late James Miller Lowe and Gladys Russell Lowe and was preceded in death by two brothers, Jackie Davis Lowe and Frankie Allen Lowe. Carl was of the Baptist faith and had served in the United States Navy. He had worked for NW Railroad and had been a truck driver for Millis Trucking. Surviving is a daughter, Carlisa Patrice Lowe of Martinsville; a son, Carl Matthew Lowe, Jr. of Roanoke; four sisters, Carolyn Lowe Beamer of Greensboro, NC, Nora Lowe Carter of Roanoke, Janet Lowe Hodnett of Richmond and Margaret Lowe Preston of Gainesville, GA; two brothers, James Edward Lowe of Lynchburg and Jeffrey Lynn Lowe of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Carla Kirby, Shakira Lowe and Jasmine Lowe; a great-grandchild, Takia Kirby; a god-daughter, LaTanya M. Wright; aunts, Della Tucker of Roanoke and Lillian Gardner of Philadelphia, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
