Carl Joseph Nabicht, 84, of Elkhart, passed away Monday, May 19, at Greenleaf Health Care Campus.
He was born Dec. 28, 1929, in South Bend to the late Franz and Mary (Applegate) Nabicht.

In addition to his parents, a brother, Franz Nabicht Jr., preceded him in death.
Carl married Nancy Hoffhein on June 11, 1955, at St. Matthews Cathedral in South Bend.
Surviving Carl are his wife of almost 59 years, Nancy; his son, Steven Nabicht and daughter-in-law Kimberly of Elkhart.
Carl retired after 14 years from Homecrest in Goshen and worked for Adams & Westlake Ltd. in Elkhart for 20 years in cost accounting.
He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, where he served as an usher and Eucharistic minister. He was also a member of Elkhart Knights of Columbus Council 1043. He enjoyed bowling, hiking, camping and playing euchre. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1953.
