Carl G. Taylor, Jr., age 72, was born March 11, 1949 in Statesville, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Taylor, Sr. and Sally (Holland) Taylor; brother Stephen Taylor, and daughter, Martia Hall. 

Carl graduated from Marion Franklin High School, Columbus, OH in 1967. He enlisted in the United States Navy in July 1967 and served our country for four years. Carl was employed with the City of Columbus for more than 45 years.

Carl was a member of the Potter’s House. He pastored and taught bible study for many years at River of Life Christian Church before moving on to the Potter’s House. Carl enjoyed building and playing guitars, golfing, tennis and motorcycle riding. He was a pastor, teacher, husband, father, brother, grand and great grandfather, cousin, uncle, mentor and friend to many.

Carl fought a good fight, finished his race and kept the faith (II Timothy 4:7) and entered eternal rest peacefully on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Mount Carmel Hospital in Grove City, OH. 

Left to celebrate his life and cherish his memory and legacy are his wife, Marcia (Christy) Taylor, Denise Brock; son, Damian Taylor; daughters, Erika Ellison, Nikkia Laster, Kymberly Taylor; grandchildren, Chanel Ellison, Abreana Taylor, Arieana Watkins, Damian Taylor, Jr., Saige Smart, Allen Smart, Jr., Rahshawn Skinner, Jr., Brooklyn Norton, Malik Hargrow, My’et Hargrow, Mikala Norton, Kaseem Norton, Jessiah Laster, Jayden Taylor, Nya Laster and Reagan Fullerton; great grands, Amaree Ayers, Ka-Leah Skinner, Rah’Mir Skinner and Jaden Lewis; brothers, Gerald Taylor and William (Alecia) Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends.
