Carl Raymond Briscoe, 87, passed away Tuesday morning, June 7, 2022, after a brief illness. He was born February 3, 1935, in Moberly, Missouri to Robert Samuel and Artie Rosetta  (Barnett) Briscoe.

Before retiring, Carl worked for Orscheln Brothers Trucking, Budig Western, and Yellow Freight as a local freight handler and driver.  He had previously served in the United States Army in Washington State, prior to receiving his honorable discharge,

Carl married Alice Goon on November 24, 1957, in Moberly, and she preceded him in death in 2016.  Carl and Alice had three children: Brent Briscoe of Los Angeles, CA who preceded him in death, and surviving children Shelley West and her husband David of St. Louis, MO and Kent Briscoe and his wife Kelly of Troy, MO.  Also surviving him are his three siblings, Robert Briscoe of Moberly, MO, Judy James and her husband Bill of Moberly, MO, and Jane Howard of Middle Grove, MO; five grandchildren, Anna and Abby West, Haley, Hunter, and Ryan Briscoe; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Carl later married Shirley (Manual) Brooks, February 3, 2018, and she survives along with her two sons John and his wife Michele Brooks of Moberly and Jason and his wife Melody Brooks of Terre Haute, IN and her five grandchildren Brendan and his wife Hannah Brooks, Ian and Joy Brooks , Amanda and Mitch Jaeger and Dustin Anderson.

Carl was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, an avid golfer with two holes in one under his belt, and a devoted Cardinals fan. He was also an active member of the Moberly First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Moberly First Baptist Church Bereavement or Missions funds, Missouri Baptist Children’s Home the Ronald McDonald House or whatever charitable organization you deem appropriate would be appreciated.
