Carey Burke Smith of Manassas Virginia passed away Monday, July 15, 2024. She was born in Buffalo New York on May 25, 1954, and moved to Virgina in 1977. Carey was a city of Manassas schoolteacher at Weems, Haydon, Jeannie Dean, Round, Mayfield, and Mets for over 30 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Gloria Burke, and her sister Beth Ann Burke. She is survived by her brother John Paul Burke of Waxhaw, North Carolina; her husband Leo C Smith; her sons Ryan Jackson of Centreville, and Kevin (Rosa) Jackson, and her grand-Bubbies Jordan Clark and Mason Jose Jackson. Carey was a loving wife, beloved Mom and Grandma. She was fiercely passionate about her family, and loved to travel, have fun, help others, and volunteer her time.
