In 1955 her parents moved to New York and two years later took up permanent residence in Paterson, NJ. Mother Maxwell attended the Public School in Paterson, NJ and in 1966 graduated from East Side High School. She continued her education by going to Secretarial School.

October 7, 1966, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Levern Maxwell and this union was blessed with three sons and three daughters. In 1969, Levern and Cararra moved to Mullins, SC. This was the birthplace of the ministry of Plain Truth Holiness Church. In 1977, the Maxwell’s moved to their current residence of Fayetteville, NC.

Mother Maxwell was gifted in the ministry of “Dress to Impress,” in her appointment as Elect Lady. Her style was like no other as she set the example of how holy women should appear in the house of God. God blessed her to have a faithful and devoted ministry of motherhood, friendship, compassion, humor, gracefulness, love, loyalty, and charity. In her immortal words “I KNOW I LOOK GOOD”

She leaves to celebrate her homegoing: a devoted husband, Bishop Levern Maxwell, her children: Levern Maxwell Jr. of Fayetteville, NC; Dee (Geegee) Maxwell of St. Petersburg, FL; Samantha (Tony) Prewitt of Snellville, GA; Kenned (Jennifer) Maxwell of Hope Mills, NC; Regina (Waymon) Gainey of Snellville, GA; Vanessa (Devon) Prewitt of Fayetteville, NC. Her brothers and sisters: Robert Allen of Bronx, NY; Darnell (Lisa) Williams of San Jose, CA; Dana Williams of Fayetteville, NC, Jeanette (Vernell) Fields of Haledon, NJ. Nineteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two goddaughters: Leellia Godfrey and Adriane Adams. Her paternal grandmother Irene Smith of Richmond, VA, two aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, family and friends.
