Calvin R. Shoemaker, 93, of 2139 Lincoln Street, went to be with the Lord Monday, November 8, 2010, at his home with his family by his side.
Cal was a self-employed carpenter contractor. He served as an aerial engineer on a B-17 with the Army Air Corp during WW II. He was a member of American Legion Post 284, Avis, was an avid hunter and enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Born June 15, 1917 in Swissdale, he was the son of Boyd C. and Martha J. Hartzel Shoemaker.
Surviving are a son, Richard A. of Buttonwood; daughters, Romaine E. (Raymond) James of Lamar and Kimberly M. Heatley of Buttonwood; a stepson, Carl Eugene (Donna) Burkholder of Jersey Shore; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and his significant other, Nancy Dauberman and family.
