Calvin J. Robinson, 80, of Cosmo St., Westerly, died peacefully on June 3, 2008, at The Westerly Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Greene) Robinson.
Born in Pawcatuck on May 30, 1928, he was the son of the late Frederick and Anna (Taylor) Robinson.
Mr. Robinson was a meat cutter for A&P for over 39 years before retiring.
Mr. Robinson served proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. He received two Bronze Stars, Korean Service Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge.
Calvin was the deputy fire chief for the Misquamicut Fire Department and served as secretary for the Southern League and Rescue for 16 years.
Mr. Robinson was a member of the Amancio-Falcone-Gaccione Veterans of Foreign War Post 8955.
He was a member of and usher for the Potters House Church of God in Mystic.
Besides his loving wife, he will be sadly missed by his children, Bonnie Bailey of Bradford, Ernest Bailey of Westerly, William Robinson of Richmond, and Robert Robinson of Westerly. He was the devoted grandfather of seven.
