Calvin J. Frey, 87, of Palmer Township, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at St. Lukes Hospital “” Anderson Campus. He was the devoted husband of Audrey (Weisskirchen) Frey, with whom he shared over 65 years of marriage. Born in North Whitehall Township, Calvin was the son of the late Henry H. and Eva V. (Lynn) Frey. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII, where he served in the Pacific Theater in Guam. He became an electrician, working at Bethlehem Steel for over 29 years, and then working for Cooper Energy/ Penn Pump and Muhlenberg Hospital until his retirement in 1991. He was an active member of Bethany UCC Church, sang in the choir and serving as a past president of the Consistory. He was also a member and former Chaplain of Bethlehem Lodge #283, Free and Accepted Masons. He was also Past Grand Tall Cedar of Bethlehem Forest #61 in 1992 and 2006. He served as former Supreme Director of the Tall Cedars. In addition, Calvin was active in Boy Scouts for over 54 years, attending two national Jamborees, an international Jamboree, and earning the Silver Beaver award. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and being outdoors. Survivors: Calvin is survived by his loving wife Audrey; daughter Nancy C. Frey and her fiance’, Joseph A. Tolotta of Phillipsburg, NJ; 3 step grandson, Joseph, Thomas and David Tolotta and a step great- granddaughter, Alexandria Tolotta; sister Margaret Lynn and her husband Thomas of Bethlehem. Calvin was predeceased by his sisters, Catherine Frey, Carrie Fatzinger, Florence Fatzinger, Dorothy Williams, Beatrice Anthes, Mildred Stever; and his brother Ralph T. Frey.
