Obituary of Calvin C. Nagel
NAGEL, Calvin C. of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Saginaw Senior Care & Rehab Center. He was 88 years old. Calvin C. Nagel was born on October 28, 1924 in Saginaw, to the late Rudolph, Sr. and Flora (Payne) Nagel. He married the love of his life, Esther C. Gottleber on July 24, 1944 in Galveston, Texas. Calvin proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1941 to 1945, during World War II. He was a longtime member of American Legion Post #22. Calvin also worked for Baker-Perkins, retiring after 41 years of dedicated service.
Surviving are one daughter, Bonnie and Terry Rupp, Saginaw; one son, Fred Nagel, Saginaw; four grandchildren: Jeffrey and Kristin Rupp, Jason and Cassandra Rupp, Jill Nagel and her fiancé, Steven Deets, Fred, Jr. and Melissa Nagel; seven: great-grandchildren: Riley, Nia and Felix Rupp, Hannah, Madison and Brooke Nagel and Samantha Harrigan; and his loving black lab, Macy.
Calvin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Esther, a daughter-in-law, Janet Nagel, and a brother, Rudy Nagel, Jr.
