Charles “Barry” Lutz, 74, one of four sons born to Jay and Jane Lutz, passed this first day of Spring March 20, 2015 from a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was a mentor to every person that he encountered as a teacher at Liberty High School in Bethlehem, PA. He was always interested in the individual’s academic as well as personal achievements in life. He was a true friend to everyone who wanted to achieve and he would challenge each to that level. Barry graduated from McKeesport High School and entered Penn State Main Campus studying a dual degree in Business Administration and English. Upon graduation he tried to enter the business world but realized his passion was to teach. He began teaching in Easton and relocated to Liberty High School in 1967, where he remained until his retirement in 1995. He received his Master’s Degree from Lehigh University. He was a Musikfest volunteer, writing the biographies for the entertainers and events for many years. Survivors: He will be sadly missed by Jay and wife Nancy Jo of Columbia, PA as well as Kirk, Stephanie and children of Red Lion, PA; nephews and nieces, Amy Jo Phillips, Anne Martin, Keith J. Lutz, wife Dana and children. He will especially be missed by his lifelong friends: Joseph Stellato, Todd Burkhart, Jeffrey Pecsek, Doris Pecsek, Randall Pecsek, John Zervos, Carol Ungerleider. He was predeceased by a younger brother, Keith.
