Buford Lawson, 87, of Anderson, passed away on July 16, 2016 at the Community Northview Care Center.
He was born on March 24, 1929 in Marysville, IN, the son of Roy and Emily (Culbertson) Lawson, and resided most of his life in Anderson and Pendleton. He owned and operated Lawson’s Garage and Transmission Shop for many years. He attended East 38th Street Free Will Baptist Church, and enjoyed old cars, westerns, and country music. Buford is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Edwina Lawson; six children, Gary (Cindy) Lawson of Anderson, Roxanne (Daniel) McNutt of Anderson, Buford A. Lawson of Anderson, Gloria (Ralph) Eytchison of OK, Terry (Joani) Lawson of Noblesville, and Kevin (Kim) Lawson of Pendleton; son-in-law, Kevin Barker of Pendleton; 18 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Elsie Cravens, Lucille Ringo, Laverne Taylor, and Barbara Jobe, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jennifer L. Barker; grandson; Jacob Lawson; great-granddaughter, Shelby Luttrell; brother, Clifford Lawson; and six sisters, Nevada, Roxie, Martha, Mona, Evalee, and Inez. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Community Northview Care Center for all their loving care and support of their dad.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2016, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St. Anderson, IN. Services will follow visitation at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Carroll Cullipher officiating. Burial will take place in the Huntsville Cemetery.
