William V. Buddy Bell, 75 years, of Virginia, IL died Friday, March 28, 2008 at the Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.

He was born May 29, 1932 in Cass County, IL; the son of Albert Elmer and Cora Evelyn Logan Bell. He married Patsy Turner on March 9, 1957 in New London, MO and she survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Bill Bell (wife, Vickie) of Virginia and Mike Bell (companion, Melissa Richardson) of Virginia; a daughter, Linda Henry (husband, Greg) of Petersburg; six grandchildren, Ben Bell (wife, Cara) of Virginia, Duran Rademaker and Dusty Rademaker, both of Petersburg, and Luke, Lacie and Devin Bell, all of Virginia; a great granddaughter, Chelsea Bell; six brothers, Lyle Bell of Beardstown, Dale Bell (wife, Ruby) of Virginia, Jerry Bell (wife, Mary) of Virginia, Frank Bell (wife, Barb) of Virginia, Donald Bell (wife, Trish) of Virginia, and David Bell of Virginia; three sisters, Betty McClure (husband, Charley) of Virginia, Lucille Bell of Virginia, and Gloria Sweatman (husband, Dennis) of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James Bell (surviving wife, Janet of Virginia) and Elmer â??Juniorâ? Bell; and a sister, Josephine Harris.

Mr. Bell served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed several years as an equipment operator for the Cass County Highway Department and later served several years as streets superintendent for the City of Virginia. He later joined his son in the operation of Bell’s Backhoe Service in Virginia. He also assisted his wife with the operation of the Dream Cream ice cream shop in Jacksonville. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Virginia, Amvets Post #100 in Jacksonville, and formerly served as an alderman for the City of Virginia. He enjoyed sharing stories and ideas with friends at the coffee shop.
