Frances Rose Budde, 84 of Albers, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 in Huntersville, North Carolina. She was born July 6, 1927 in Aviston, daughter of Frank H. and Mary (Kuhl) Wolters. She married Anton P. “Tony” Budde on August 27, 1947 at St. Francis Church in Aviston and he preceded her in death on February 8, 2003.
She is survived by her children, Tony (Donna) Budde of Highland, Kathy (Stan) Wiegmann of Carlyle, Gene (Becky) Budde of Damiansville, Jerry Budde of Centralia, Marian (Jerry) Albers of Germantown, Susan Evilsizer of Charlotte, NC, and Peggy Billhartz of Chatham; 14 grandchildren, Tony (Denise) Budde, Jr., Chris (Cathy) Budde, Matthew (April) Budde, Tom Budde, Jonathan Budde, Jenny (Chris) Mercer, Carla (Tim) Kampwerth, Tara (James) Peters, Neil (Kira) Budde, Josh Evilsizer, Jill (Anthony) Cooper, Adam Budde, Jim Albers and Geri Ann Albers; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Leo (Jeanette) Wolters of Aviston; three sisters, Victoria Thole of Carlyle, Jeanette (Edward) Johnson of New Baden and Clara Niemann of Breese; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rose Wolters of New Baden, Joe Ripperda of Aviston, and Christine Budde of Bartelso.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Virginia Budde; a granddaughter, Angela Wiegmann; a great granddaughter, Isabella Diane Schulte; three brothers, Anthony Wolters, Clemens J. Wolters and Frank Wolters; three sisters, Annie Niemann, Catherine Wolters and Virginia Ripperda; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John Niemann, Verneida Wolters, Alfred Thole, Vincent Niemann, Joe Budde, George & Margaret Budde, Elisabeth & Virgil Eilering, Ben Budde, & Helen & Albert Winkeler.
Mrs. Budde was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Bernard Parish and Altar Sodality in Albers. She was a member of American Legion Post 1026 Auxiliary in Albers where she held many offices and was flag bearer for 25 years. She was also a member and past-president of Catholic War Veterans Post 1780 Auxiliary in Marion and was the Catholic War Veterans Representative for the Marion VA Hospital for 36 years. She was awarded the Catholic War Veterans Woman of the Year.
