Bruno R. Daptula, 94, of Fountain Hill died on Thursday, Oct.10, 2013 in his home. He was the husband of Emma (Risko) Daptula for over 50 years. Born on March 28, 1919 in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late Stanley and Helen Daptula. He honorably served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II. Bruno worked for the Bethlehem Steel for many years, until retiring as a Foreman in the Plate Shop. He was a member of the Bethlehem Steel Club where he was a avid golfer, club champion, and once recorded a round of 69. He was a member of St. Ursula Catholic Church. He we also an elected official to the Fountain Hill Borough Council, where he served for many years. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, are daughter, Emma Jane “E.J.” Ammend of Fountain Hill, with who he resided; grandsons, James Ammend and wife Anne of Fleetwood, PA, Kevin Ammend of Australia; great-grandchildren, Skyler and Cecelia. He was predeceased by his daughter, Joan Helen Daptula and brother, John Daptula.
