Bruce Robert Pincus went to be with his LORD and Savior on January 1, 2020. He
was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, on August 27,1934, to William and Sally (nee
Garbowitz) Pincus. They moved to New York and Bob graduated high school from Brooklyn Tech. He
matriculated at Georgia Institute of Technology where he received his B.S. in Electrical
Engineering and met the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann Pittman. Bob and Ann married
in 1957 and moved to Maryland where his first employer was Litton Industries. A few
years later, he applied to the newly formed National Aeronautics and Space
Administration and began an illustrious career at the Goddard Space Flight Center. At
the Sounding Rocket Branch he supported approximately 500 missions in various
levels of responsibility and eventually transitioned to Space Shuttle efforts. He was
awarded 2 prestigious Exceptional Achievement Awards in recognition of his
meritorious engineering contributions. When he retired from NASA after 30 years of
service and relocated to Huntsville, Alabama, Bob continued as a consultant for Missile
Defense programs for both the United States and Israel.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, his sister Bernice, and son Robert Wayne. He is
survived by his devoted and loving wife Ann; daughters Teresa Bradlee(Robert),
Deborah Pincus (Karen), and Barbara Hays; grandchildren Brandon Siegert, Corinne
Angold (Ryan), Allison Stirrup (Matthew), Rachel Radford (Kenneth), Desiree Bostic
(Michael), Wendy Jettmar, and Austin Hays; 8 great grandchildren; his brother Stanley
(Connie); and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
