Brittany (Rutherford) Hofstatter, 31, of Fremont, collapsed October 2nd and despite heroic efforts of the Sandusky Co. EMS; Promedica Memorial ER, and the Toledo Promedica Hospital, she was unable to overcome her illness. Brittany died on Monday October 13, 2014.
Brittany was born on July 31, 1983 to Timothy and Stephanie (Levans) Rutherford. She graduated from Clyde High School in 2002. She had worked for International Automotive Components in Fremont.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Clyde.
On December 15, 2007, she married Daniel E. Hofstatter. Dan survives, along with five children; Gage Hill, Fremont; Gavin, Chase, Sydney and Isabella Hofstatter, all of Fremont. A stepdaughter, Mea Hofstatter, Sandusky. Her parents of Green Springs; her sister, Bethany Rutherford, Oak Harbor; her in-laws, DeAnna and Eric Hofstatter, Sandusky; sister-in-law, Jessica (Jeremy) Lindsey, Bellevue; maternal grandmother, Emily Hammer, Tiffin; paternal grandparents, Ted and Barb Rutherford, Green Springs; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins, survive.
Brittany was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Garold Hammer.
