Brian P.

Brian was born in Ayr, Scotland, on December 27, 1945, the son of the late Leonard and Mary (Preece) Rodriquez. As a young child the family moved to New York, specifically the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens. It was here that Brian, as a young man, learned the ins and outs of the Manhattan roadways, shops, and shortcuts through the city. These served him well in later years during the many returns to the city he would take as an adult. It was also during this time that Brian became a “true New Yorker” in all senses of the term. He loved the diverse culture, the food, the people, and the Yankees. Brian returned to Manhattan whenever he could.

Brian graduated from the University of Arizona at Tucson with his B.S. in Electrical Engineering. After earning his degree Brian continued in the electronics field, assisting with several war defense projects. Brian, through his hard work and determination, earned the position of Managing Director for Radio Shack, overseeing all of the Radio Shack stores in the Manhattan area; he remained with Radio Shack for over 20 years until his retirement.

Although job demands were high, Brian always found the time to be there for Jason’s Little League games, or to pack everyone up for weekend car trips to scenic places. Brian loved nature. He enjoyed capturing it through photography, especially in the contrast of black and white film. His family and friends will miss, but always remember, Brian’s sentimental ways and friendly teasing which were his way of telling you how much love he had for you. Brian saw the joy in giving and cherished seeing happiness in the face of those he loved; a romantic to the end.

Brian’s family wishes to honor his life privately.
