Brian Allen Smith, 43, of Lafayette, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones at his residence, on Saturday, January 15, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Brian was born November 14, 1978, in Lafayette, to Cynthia L. (Henderson) Smith and the late James M. Smith, Jr.
Brian graduated from McCutcheon High School in 1997. He went on to complete an HVAC program at ITT Technical Institute. He worked in building maintenance at Fairfield Manufacturing for the past 15 years, and was a proud member of Local UAW 2317.
Brian was an avid sports fan. He loved following the Denver Broncos and the Chicago Cubs, but his true passion was attending his daughter Haylee’s basketball and softball games. He also enjoyed making scrapbooks for Haylee and showing his ‘47 Ford truck.
Brian never met a stranger and never hesitated to lend a helping hand.
Brian is survived by his mother Cynthia, his beloved daughter, Haylee Smith (mother Angie Wilson), his partner, Jennifer Wilkerson Raderstorf (son Cullen), his older brother, AJ Smith, his nephew, Michael Smith (wife Serenity), two great nieces, Paige and Wrenley Smith, and his grandmother, Shirley Henderson, all of Lafayette.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, James, and grandparents, Jack Henderson and James and Lois Smith.
