Brett Hundertmark, age 59, of Bode passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020, at Mercy One of North Iowa in Mason City. Brett Hundertmark is survived by his significant other of 20 years Diane (Foth) Devin and his brothers Kirk (Ginger) Hundertmark of Livermore and Lail Hundertmark of Long Beach, CA. Diane’s Son Seth (Judy) McCabe and son Colby of Bronson, Iowa. Nephew Jason (Melanie) Hundertmark of Indianola, Iowa, Ferris Hundertmark, Long Beach, CA., Nieces Samantha (Michael) Frank, Long Beach, CA. Crista (Adam) Lamphier of Manson and Abby (Taylor) Kunert of Renwick. Great-Nieces and Nephews; Bryce and Grayce Hundertmark of Indianola, Ethan and Brooklyn Kunert of Renwick, Georgia and Harmony Brandow of Manson. He was preceded in death by his parents; Ferris Hundertmark – June 25, 1998, Virginia Hundertmark March 5, 2013. Brett Ferris Hundertmark, the Son of Ferris Orman Hundertmark and Virginia Hope (Joiner) Hundertmark of Bode, was born August 7, 1961 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. He received his education and graduated from the Twin Rivers High School class of 1980. Brett was a member of the St Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode and during his school years he was also a member of the Chi Centra Singers, which was a group of about nine churches in the Bode, Livermore and Ottosen area. He then attended a Two-Year Construction Class at Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg, Iowa, then moved to Texas where he worked for an electrical contractor, Brett followed his boss to California in early 1988 till mid 1990’s and continued working for the electrical contractor, then he moved back to Livermore and started Brett’s Electric and Hundertmark Water Softeners in Livermore, Iowa. He also served on the Livermore Fire Department. In 1999 Brett moved out of Livermore to the Hundertmark family farm home place. Brett enjoyed country western dancing, Karaoke, auctioneering at weddings and benefits, barn cupolas on all his buildings, friends and neighbors stopping by the farm to visit, great friends meant the world to him.
