Brenda Holland Mansfield, 65, went to be with her Lord on December 9, 2023. She was born April 14, 1958 to the late Flora Bland and Joseph C. Holland.Brenda graduated from Nansemond-Suffolk Academy in 1976 and went on to earn her degree from Elon College. After college she began working at Community Electric Cooperative where she spent 43 years, retiring in June 2023. She was a member of Western Branch Baptist Church where she served in the choir and WMU. Her greatest accomplishment was being “BB” to her two grandchildren.At her retirement, Brenda quoted herself as being “a fairly simple person.” She enjoyed bargain shopping, trips to sporting events and the beach with her family, crafting, gardening, and Thursday night dinners at Chick-fil-A.She is survived by her husband of 41 years Cary P. Mansfield; children Stefanie Turner(Andrew) of Pinehurst, NC and Casey Hedrick (Robert) of Suffolk; grandchildren Holden Hedrick and Holland Turner; sisters Pamela Miller (Mark) and Wanda Rector (John); brothers Joseph “Joey” Holland, Jr. (Pam), and Adrian Holland (Lucy); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
