On January 5, 2017, Brenda H. Maness went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a valiant battle with congestive heart failure. She was 73-years old. Born in Caswell County, NC, on July 18, 1943, to Gladys Pryor Harrelson and Emmitte J. Harrelson, Brenda retired from Holt’s Textiles in 2010 after 47-years. She was a faithful member of Kimesville Road Baptist Church, beloved Sunday School Teacher and enjoyed singing in the choir. Brenda was a member of the first graduating class at Southern Alamance High School in 1961.
Brenda is survived by her husband Lacy Thomas “Tom” Maness; daughters V. Kay Holt (Kathy) and Cheryl M. Taylor (Rev. Bo); step-sons Steve Maness (Wilma) and Johnny Maness (Cindy); sister Rita H. Holt (Nick); brothers H. L. Harrelson (Patsy), Roger Harrelson (Estelle), Brett Harrelson (Donna); grandchildren Haley, Harrison and Sarah Taylor; several nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren; and close sister-in-Christ, Faye Frye. Brenda was predeceased in death by her parents and brother, E. Darrell Harrelson, and step-son Terry V. Maness (Debbie).
