Brenda Allen LaFountain went to be with her Heavenly Father on November 18, 2014. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Bud LaFountain, and parents, Mildred and Findley Allen. Survivors include; beloved dog and cat, Zoey and Pistal; sister, Dr. Nancy Hinson; niece, Ashley Woods; great niece, Casey Woods and great nephew, Bobby Woods.
Brenda was born in Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from Ensley High School and Auburn University. For the past 35 years she resided in Destin, Florida where she and her husband, Bud, owned and operated LaFountain’s Wharf, a landmark Destin restaurant. Her zest for life, independent spirit and humor will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially those she loved.
The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to Sacred Heart and UAB oncologists, Dr’s Mose Hayes and Stephan Grant. The family also wishes to express eternal gratitude to her family of friends who unselfishly provided whatever help was necessary during her lengthy illness with cancer.
